Steve Bryant is the only owner the Carolina Mudcats has ever had. He purchased the team in 1988, then located in Columbus, Georgia, and built the original "Field of Dreams" here at Five County Stadium, for the 1991 season. Seventeen years and $30 million later, the Carolina Mudcats open the 2008 season with wonderful new highways that whisk local fans effortlessly to Five County Stadium.

"The Magic of Baseball" to me says it all. I wanted to produce a vision statement for our new employees that would let them share the vision our veteran staff has had through the years. While defining the statement I realized that many new fans have moved to our area and may not know of the Mudcats history or the passion we still feel after 17 years of Mudcat Mania.

We are not corporate baseball, and never want to be. Your experience motivates us to be flexible and deliver the experience you have come to expect of us. The magic of baseball means that each time you spend quality time with friends and family here, you leave with the magical feeling a baseball game delivers. Each visit should be an escape to this sparkling venue that provides affordable, quality experiences that may be passed to future generations. After all, it is all about the kids.
